The Proffit Fam

I don't really know how to use a blog so we'll see how it goes. Josh and I have been busy with our "not so little" son Max over the past 1 1/2 years. He is VERY active as I guess most toddlers are. His favorite things to do are play basketball with dad, snuggle and read books with mom and run around like a crazy kid. He is extremely tall for his age. He wears a size 7 shoe and can only fit into 2T clothes. I find it amazing how well natured he is. He hardly ever cries, knows when its time to take a nap (and he's o.k. with it), but also understands more than we think. He eats a ton. It's a good thing kids meals come with a lot of fries. He's not one to share when it comes to food. He plays hard and sleeps hard. He'll sleep in until 9:00am sometimes if we let him. Max has a very gentle spirit and hates scary noises. Airplanes and helicopters are o.k. but NOT the drive thru car wash. If it's music he'll dance along with the rest of us. As you can tell our lives revolve around Max but that's o.k. because he brings soooo much joy into our lives. He constantly reminds us that routine is good especially when it consists of daily prayers, brushing teeth and lots of hugs and kisses. I often wonder what my life would be like without such a blessing. I guess it would be quite empty. Isn't it interesting how God gave us this awesome responsibility and yet so many think of it as a burden? Well, I can attest to you that it is not. Motherhood is the only thing that truly matters in my life aside from the relationships I share with family and friends. Isn't it interesting that those relationships are worth more than anything to me in this life and those are one of the few things I'll take with me in eternity? Coincidence? I think not. I feel that I should spend all my days on this earth striving to work on those relationships and strengthening my family. Too bad somebody's got to pay the bills, huh? That's life as we know it.
