Josh and I were in desperate need of a get-a-way from our children. I know how bad that sounds but they have been so crazy and draining lately that in order to keep our sanity as parents we needed to just get-a-way. Thanks to my mom and Aunt Elise for watching Max and Audrey so we could spend some time alone. We booked a deal online and got a great rate at the Hyatt in La Jolla. This hotel was amazing! We went to the San Diego temple where we were married almost 8 years ago. We saw a Iron Man 2, went to dinner, checked out new cell phone plans, went shopping, walked to the beach, checked out the tide pools, went in the spa, slept in, read books, had great conversation....you know---all the things that are hard to do with the kiddos around. After the vacation we came back much better parents. Audrey gave me a full body hug when we came home and Max told me about how much fun he had with Aunt Elise. I think maybe the kids needed a break from us too.

I don't think any mom with two young kids will feel anything except jealousy, no need to feel bad! You guys totally deserved it! I love the pics. It looks like so much fun!
They may need a break from you too, but they missed you! Well, ok in all honesty, I don't think Audrey did, little stinker. But Max did for sure! On Saturday night when I asked him if he wanted me to read him a book and tuck him in, he said "No, I just want my mom. She's coming home tomorrow."
oh those pictures are so cute! i love them. i am so happy you had such a fun time together.
